This is the second volume of the history of Ford's involvement in autoracing, covering the period when the sport grew from a local attraction to its regular appearance on national television. The book tracks Ford's ongoing involvement in the competitive sport; before the Ford Company existed, it was racing that enabled Henry Ford to raise the money for one of his early companies. This volume deals with seven different disciplines: stock car racing on a major league basis; American single-seater racing; drag racing; world championship (grand prix) racing; road racing; off-road racing; and international rallying. The book gives the historical facts accompanied by first-hand interviews form some of the motosports legends. |
