These are the proceedings of the 26th Conference, held in California in June 2000. The conference bought together airport planners, designers, and development professionals from across the world. The book is divided into eight sections: emerging issues in airfield pavement design; case studies – evaluating recent advances in airfield pavement (Rockford, Smyrna, San Francisco, and Denver); advances in airport modelling and simulation; the planning, design and development of San Jose international Airport; accommodating future airport operations; planning and designing airport landslide areas; and planning challenges for airports of the future. |
