Review: Microwave filters are a vital component in many electronic systems, including cellular radio, satellite communications and radar. The design of filter uses network synthesis, which allows the application of systematic procedures which work from the original specification to the final design, rather than using design-based rules on analysis. This book aims to provide a single source for filter design which includes basic circuit theory, network synthesis and the design of a variety of microwave filter structures. Design theories are presented along with specific examples with numerical simulations of the deigns. There are chapters on: basic network theory; the design of lumped lowpass prototype networks; circuit transformation on lumped prototype networks; TEM transmission line filters; waveguide filters; dielectric resonator filters; and miniaturisation techniques for microwave filters.
