This textbook provides secondary education majors in chemistry and biology and engineering students with a background in the fundamental principles of physical chemistry. The development of the text is calculus-based in order to gain an understanding of the topics based on first principles. It covers: the properties of gases; the first , second and third laws of thermodynamics; the thermodynamics of solutions and solution equilibria; chemical kinetics; molecular motions and energies; and atomic and molecular structure. Problems and examples are included within the chapters. |
