Review: This book includes data on 1813 substances, including a number of mixtures, that are important in the agricultural environment. The chemical compounds have been selected from the larger collection of industrial chemicals found in Gardner's Chemical Synonyms and Trade Names. The chemicals chosen for inclusion are all commercially available and have agricultural uses. The first part of the book includes 12 functional categories (acaricides, fertilisers, fungicides etc.) and their subdivisions as well as their synonyms and properties (classifications, chemical composition, function, application, supplier, melting and boiling points, density and specific gravity etc.). The second part includes three indexes, enabling the reader to locate a chemical by CAS Registry number, EINECS number, name or synonym.
