The skies are becoming increasingly crowded and there is increased commercialization in many areas. There is also an increased interlocking between technological developments and the size of the financial investments required. All these factors increase the need for the development of an integrated aviation system, with all those involved having an awareness of what is happening in other sectors of the industry.
The book is divided into three parts. The first part covers new concepts for aircraft and airports. The second discusses human factors and training, including human factors in the cockpit and Air Traffic Control, safety, and training issues in air traffic flow management. The last part looks at managing the aviation system, including the Air Traffic Management System, improving capacity, the new IATA International Passenger Liability Regime, and developments in aircraft interior design. |
