These are 18 papers selected from those presented at the 5th International Conference on Biaxial/Multiaxial Fatigue and fracture, held in Krakow, Poland In 1997. The papers deal with theoretical, computational and experimental aspects of the multiaxial fatigue and fracture engineering materials and structures. They are divided into four categories: proportional cyclic loading; non-proportional cyclic loading; variable amplitude and random loading; and crack growth. Most of the papers cover the behaviour of constructional materials and elements of machines under non-proportional loading and under variable-amplitude and random loading, which are the more realistic loadings that are met in industrial practice. There is also a review of the latest investigations on multiaxial fatigue and fracture. |
