This book describes recent advances in our knowledge of polymer-surfactant systems, combining up-to-date descriptions of the use of techniques such as NMR, time-resolved fluorescence, and calorimetry with more detailed surveys of specific system properties. Current applications of polymer-surfactant systems are discussed, emphasizing the traditional close relationship between fundamental studies and applications research in this area.
There are chapters on: applications; phase behaviour; the nature of interactions; models of polymer-surfactant complexation; NMR studies; fluorescence methods; isothermal titration and temperature scanning calorimetric studies; interactions of polymers and nonionic surfactants; polyelectrophyte-surfactant interactions; and solubilization of dyes by polymer-surfactant complexes. |
