Review: Manuel Gallego received the Spanish Architecture Award in 1997. His approach to architecture is in many ways a critical continuation of De la Sota's. Gallego's rational buildings are a series of broken up primary forms grounded in the particulars of the place. The spaces created open out to the outside and the walls act as the connecting elements between architecture and nature.
