This book presents a significant amount of current knowledge on room acoustics. The first two chapters discuss absorption, sound refelecton and diffusion, and echo and reverberation. Much of the current research concentrates on perfecting models that analyse the so-called subjective attributessss of sound fields. The next two chapters present studies of simulation models of the binaural experiences of listeners in a room. The last two chapters present examinations of recent work carried out on acoustics in concert halls and auditoria, and churches - specific spaces which share the common factor of having been historically 'the places of music'. |
