This book covers the requirements for most undergraduate heat transfer courses. It includes the main topics in the field: analytical and numerical conduction; principles of convection; forced and free convection; heat transfer during boiling and condensation; radiative heat transfer; heat exchangers, and heat transfer instrumentation. At a higher level, in the chapter on heat instrumentation, it includes tables of data and the presentation of different aspects of convection. There are also details of the principles of convection, including the derivation of the momentum and energy equations. Each chapter gives an introduction to the topic, develops the theory, and gives worked examples of applications. There are also end-of-chapter problems for practice. |
